He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Shope and Zady Gladys Shope (Dyer); his wife Christine (Rittenberry); his son Darrell; his great grandchild Daniel; and his siblings, Freddie, Charles, Davey, Melvie Lohr and Rosa Evans.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Spiegel (Ron) of Nevada and Harold Shope; his siblings, Bo Shope (Evelyn) of Bucyrus, Earl Shope (Mona) of Bucyrus, Pete Shope (Drema) of Kentucky, Geri Grayson (Bob) of Kentucky, Clyde Shope (Dee) of Kentucky, William Shope (Nita) of Montana, Donald Shope of Lucasville, Reda Hauck (Bim Thurman) of Kentucky, Mary Nolen of Kentucky and Deb Pyles (John) of Oklahoma; and his grandchildren, Jason Shope of Bucyrus and Tosha Spiegel. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
