He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Schaub and Frieda Schaub (Steinke); his wife Carol Mae Schaub (Clayton); and his siblings, Harold Schaub (Wanda) and Irene Cecil (Arnold).
He is survived by: his daughters, Chandra Thomas (Jeff) of Baton Rouge and Linda Lentz of Minster; his grandchildren, Justin Thomas, Alexandria Cruey (Benny) and Jenna Maurer (Chet); and his great grandchildren, Jackson Cruey, Aubrielle Cruey and Miriam Cruey.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grand Lake Hospice in Melvin's memory.
