He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lloyd and Elizabeth Lucille Bruner (Ary); his daughter Kimberly Shaffer; his siblings, Phyllis Patrick (Danny), Judy Sharp (Max), Michael Bruner (Robin) and Charles L. Bruner, Jr.; his brother-in-law Steve Rhoades; his nephew Steven J. Bruner; and his sons-in-law, Jason Hale and Chase Spencer.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Bruner (Rhoades); his daughter Rebecca "Beck" Spencer; his grandchildren, Remington Hileman (Caiti), Gage Hileman (Bree), Jacob Shaffer (Makenzie), Jason Hale II, Kasen Hale and Annabeck Spencer; his great grandchild Hudson Thomas Hileman; his son-in-law J. D. Shaffer; his brother Robert; and his sisters-in-law, Glenna Bruner and Marilyn Bruner. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Tribute Funeral Homes (1000 N Broadway St, Greenville, OH 45331). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
