With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David L Speer of New Philadelphia, Ohio, who passed away on September 29, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though David may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those David touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his brother Steve Speer. He is survived by: his wife Penny Speer; his children, Leslie Moreland (Tim), Tonya Kreitzer (Scott) and Tim Speer (Holly); his stepchildren, Michael Church (Pamela), Angie Church (Jon Fahrner) and Patrick Church (Maria); and his brothers, Phillip Speer (Doreen) and Rand Speer. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory (116 2nd St NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
