He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Homer R. Smith and Ruth E. Ice Smith. He is survived by: his siblings, David R. Smith (Carolyn) of Oakton, Craig W. Smith (Ish) of Roswell, Georgia and Linda Smith Schnittke (Steve) of New Straitsville, Ohio.; his nieces and nephews, Christy Hogan, Dr. Stacy Kesten (Dan), Allison Knab (Brian), Andrew R. Smith, Kevin Smith (Shannon), Cary Smith (Libby) and Abigail Schnittke; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Glenn, Natalie, Molly, Sadie, Oscar, Clara, Evelyn, Anna, Jack, Ashley, Scarlett, Colin, Vivian, Dovie, Hazel, Cormac, Meredith and Lilia.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (201 W Brown St, New Lexington, OH 43764).
In lieu of flowers, memorial funds may be donated to the New Lexington Food Pantry or Perry Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
