The family will receive friends from 2-4pm prior to the service. Brenda, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 18, 2021.
She was born on March 12, 1957 in Corona, CA to the late John and Mary (Garten) Brown. Brenda loved the beach and the ocean, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her very large extended family. A favorite memory was a trip through Western Europe at 16 where she visited her uncle Lowell and his family in Germany, also travelling around France and the Netherlands.
She was a beacon of light for many, had a compassionate spirit, and always offered an encouraging word. Brenda K. shared her creativity with others, expressing her thoughts and feelings through writing by creating acrostic poems for those she loved. A helper at heart, she completed an Associate's Degree in Mental Health and worked (formally and informally) as a substance abuse and recovery counselor.
She loved watching the wildlife in her backyard and listening to peaceful sounds of nature. Brenda loved the color blue and butterflies. She had a wonderful sense of humor with an infectious laugh, and often ended conversations with "don't forget your prayers.". She was a well-respected and long-standing member of the recovery community.
Brenda is survived by her husband, David Ohler; daughters, Raeanna (Mark) O'Brien and Patricia (Mike) Schwamb; son, Brandon Luft; grandchildren, Brayden, Aaliyah, Cassie, Kaylin and Addyson; brother, David Brown; former spouse, Ray Luft and sister-in-law, Linda (Dana) Jones; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
