It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darlene Valgene Schumaker of Newark, Ohio, born in Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on May 11, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur J. "Mike" Adkins and Jacqueline Adkins (Smith); her husband James Edward Schumaker; her brothers, David Adkins and Donald Adkins; and her stepfather Art Bradford.
She is survived by: her daughter Catherine Powell; her granddaughter Nicole Powell; her siblings, Debbie Hare (Ron) and Daniel Adkins (Lisa); her stepchildren, Michael Schumaker (Chris) and Robin Comston; and her stepgrandchildren, Melinda Hicks, Brian Schumaker and Brandon Schumaker. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
