With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Gene Pettit of Newark, Ohio, who passed away on August 7, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fenton F. W. and Pauline Lou Lou Pettit (Emmert); and his former wife Ruth Ann Pettit (Shipley). He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Thomas (Randy) of Nashport, Donald Pettit (Jane) of Crooksville, Robert Pettit of Warsaw, Gary Pettit (Kelli) of Heath, Roger Pettit of Zanesville, Jennifer Burk (Cliff) of West Lafayette and Edith Rhodes (Tucker Randles) of Heath; his sister Betty Harris (Kenneth); his stepchildren, Dee Heyder, Jodee Heyder, Rolly Heyder and Julie Hurtt; his daughter Denise Ann Pettit; his daughters-in-law, Deborah Pettit and Beverly Pettit; his brothers, Rolland, Bernard, Fenton, Ralph, Raymond, Jim and Wayne; his grandson Levi Thomas; and his great grandchild Johnathon Campbell. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 48 greatgrandchildren, 5 great-greatgrandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the William Thompson & Son Funeral Home (5765 Gladstone Dr, White Cottage, OH 43791). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
