He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorenzo Dewey and Winona Pearl McCreary; his former wife Charlene McCreary; his brothers, Kenneth and Frederick McCreary; and his children-in-law, Billene McCreary and Larry Wagner.
He is survived by: his wife Janet McCreary; his children, Larry James "LJ" McCreary (Joyce), Cynthia J. Wagner, Peggy L. Jenkins (Larry), Michael N. McCreary and Aaron B. McCreary (Leslie); and his grandchildren, Jani, L. Shawn (Cindy), Dana, Eric, Jamin (Julie), Jared (Jennifer), Jolie (Scott), Brooke and Chase. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and loyal friends.
