He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Ailes and Edith Ailes; his wife Ruth Ailes; his daughter Terrie Jones; and his siblings, Robert Ailes, Jack Ailes, Martha Hines and Mary Miles.
He is survived by: his daughters, Charlotte Simpson (Lester) and Mary Jorge. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-granchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family.
