We are sad to announce that on January 25, 2024, at the age of 91, John Robert Palmer of Newark, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Palmer and Ruth Palmer (Cooperrider); the mother of his children Eva Palmer (Shafer); and his sisters, Elizabeth Hutchins and Ruth Palmer.

He is survived by : his wife Kay Palmer (Brown); his children, Carol Reed (Tim), Peggy Henderson (Tom), Margie Best (Ed), Roberta White (Milo), John Palmer (Marsha) and David Palmer (Diane); his stepsons, Charles Ives (Missy), Rick Ives and Eric Ives (Heather); and his sister Mary Julian. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made in John's name to a charity of your choice.

“May your heart and soul find peace and comfort. May you know that he is no longer in discomfort, pain or fatigued. He has shed his body of all disease and his spirit is dancing and singing to a new song. As a poem reads: Don't cry for me today, I wouldn't want it this way. Be strong and smile, for you will see me in a while. I know you miss me, but now in Heaven I will be. Do not keep your sad face. But smile and share memories of love, laughter and the wisdom shared.
