We are sad to announce that on April 14, 2024, at the age of 89, Louise A. Cortez of Newark, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Frederico Testa and Rosa Testa (Carospilla); her husband Francis "Frank" Cortez; her sons, Michael A. Cortez and Frederick J. Cortez; and her sisters, Teresa A. Westbrook (Gerald) and Mary Pecoraro.

She is survived by : her son John F. Cortez; her grandchildren, Caitlyn R. Blacet (Brett), Christina M. Cortez, Annie M. Haefs, Justin Cortez (Marissa), Joshua Cortez (Sierra) and Addison Cortez; her great grandchildren, Hunter, Finley, Weston Cortez, Asher, Avery Cortez, Lera, Archer, Beau, Max Blacet and Elijah J. Badgley; and her extended family, Staci Hoy and Carrie Cortez. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (66 Granville St, Newark, OH 43055). A Mass was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 12:15 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery (7028 Mt Vernon Rd, Newark, OH 43055).
