She was predeceased by: her father George Burden; her husbands, John Thompson II and Calvin Kidwell; her daughter Judy Givens; and her sisters, Betty Powers and Evelyn Van Buren.
She is survived by: her mother Clara Burden (Sterrett); her sons, John "Jack" Thompson (Brenda) and Bob Thompson (Melissa); and her siblings, George Burden (Betty), Carol Shepard (Tom), Linda McDowell and Richard Burden. She is also survived by six granddaughters, three grandsons, twelve great grandsons, four great granddaughters; and four stepchildren.
