We announce the death of Otis Eugene McCloud of Newark, Ohio, who passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 82. Otis will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Diotis McCloud and Margie McCloud (Phillips); his foster parents, Violet and Additionally; and his son Michael McCloud.
He is survived by: his wife Violet Marie McCloud (Lacy); his sons, Mark McCloud (Donna Stalter) and Wesley McCloud (C. Mallory Harris); his grandchildren, Taylor Adams (Aric) and Lauryn Hart; his sisters, Cynthia Cross and Judy Morehouse (John); and his adoptive son Brian Casto. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home (985 N 21st St, Newark, OH 43055). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home (985 N 21st St, Newark, OH 43055). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at the Wilson Cemetery (4254 Marion Rd NE, Newark, OH 43055).
