She was predeceased by: her parents, Jakob Haas and Walburga Haas (Stiebert); her husband Lawrence David Hettinger; her daughter Patricia McBride (Hettinger); and her siblings, Otto, Ernst, Werner, Willi Haas and Elvira Spindler.
She is survived by: her children, Lawrence D. Hettinger, Jr. (Brooke) of Virginia, Glenn Hettinger (Patty) of Columbus, Carolyn Strayer (Todd) of Columbus, Dean Hettinger (Jennifer) of Warsaw and Deborah Zerkle (Tony) of Rushville; her grandchildren, Theresa Dlugopolsky (John), David Hettinger (Christina), Christine Garfield (Kelly), Michael Hettinger, Jessica Norton (Deon), Danielle Jack (Tony), Alex Hettinger (Dani), Alyssa Lepp (Brandon), Lauren Booth, Nathan Strayer (Casey), Madelyn Strayer, Lillian Strayer, Evelyn Strayer, Bailey Hettinger and Owen Hettinger; her sisters, Anneliese Marvar of Cleveland and Gerda Hronowski of Virginia; and her son-in-law Joseph McBride. She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
