He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Smith and Eunice Smith (Fisher); his brother Rusty Smith (Patti); and his grandson Karter Smith. He is survived by: his significant other Connie (Sturm); his children, Amber Smith, Lindsey Everhart (Scott) and Roxanne Blair (Chris); his stepchildren, Chase Cameron (Elizabeth) and Chelsea Wolf; his children, Kenya Thomas and Peter Mande of Uganda; his grandchildren, Gavin Kirch, Landon Rodgers, Blaze Everhart, Blane Everhart, Zoa Dixon, Keira Shipley, Elaina, Leah, Anna Cameron and Zachariah Higgins; his great grandchild Rocky Smith Jr. of Uganda, Africa.; his siblings, Tony Boler, Rhonda Saling (Paul) and Jeanie Denman (Kevin); and his close friends, Troy, Zenaide Burden, Bob Blackstone and Steve Minor.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northside Church of Christ for the Africa missions.
