He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Emerson and Helen Mattie Brown (McNabb); his son Jared Stephen; and his grandson John Stephen. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Brown (Annecillo); his daughter Meghan Svatora; his grandchildren, Andrew and Anna Svatora; and his sister Lynne McLeish (Ronald). He is also survived by friends, fellow workers, old car friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home (141 Green Wave Dr, Newark, OH 43055). A Mass was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (394 E Main St, Newark, OH 43055).
