With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Steven D. Peterson of Newark, Ohio, born in Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on June 18, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Steven departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Steven may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Steven leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Peterson and Ila Peterson (Elliott). He is survived by: his wife Connie L. Tettenhorst; his son Mark; his daughter-in-law Ali; his brother Theodore (Ted); his sister-in-law Deborah (Debbie) of Rockford, Illinois.; his aunt Leota Romig of Belvidere; and his uncle Leland Elliott of San Diego.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution will be designated at a later date.
