He is survived by: his wife Kimberley Mentz (Mertens); his children, Montana and Katherine Mentz; his siblings, Jean Ritchey, Joan Hutchison, Trish Blankenship (Ray), Barbara Redman (Joe), Sharon Schroeder, Kathleen Rucker and Tim Mentz (Dawn); his siblings-in-law, Debbie Mentz, Jean Scott (Ernie) and Jeff Stires; and his pet Thor. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
