He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry D. Butler and Ellen "Irene" Butler (Wells); his sons, Tommy Butler and Christopher Butler; and his brother James I. Butler.
He is survived by: his wife Mary L. Butler (Thum); his sons, Stephen Butler of Colorado, Anthony Butler of Newark and Shawn Butler of Newark; and his grandchildren, Robin Butler (Linnea) and Amber Butler.
