He was predeceased by: his parents, Williard Diehl, Sr. and Erma N. Diehl (Brooks); his siblings, Lois Gunter and Terry Diehl; and his brother-in-law Dominick Capatino.
He is survived by: his children, Heather DeNune (David) of Martinsburg and Charles W. Diehl (Amanda) of Newark; his stepdaughter Theresa Lincks of Gambier; his former wife Laura M. Diehl-Hysell (Michael Hysell) of Newark; and his sister Sheri Capatino of Newark. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
