We announce the death of Bettye Barbara Freeman in Newbury, Ohio, born in Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on September 19, 2026, at the age of 88. Bettye will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Timothy; her grandchild Blaire; her parents, Clyde Flickinger and Marion Byler; and her sister-in-law Patricia Gregg (late Walter).
She is survived by: her children, Kevin (Mary), Kip (Chris), Kileen Sturgis (Blake) and Korey (Lisa Dunn); her grandchildren, Brandon (Lauren), Blake (Lindsey), Brittany Sustar (Greg), Bryson (Victoria), Brett (Cyerra), Bailey Gragg (Joey), Christopher Parente (Kate), Rachael, Mitchell, Rory and Brody; her great grandchildren, Quinn, Kinsley, Hudson, Parker, Mercedes, Madison, Morgan, Brayden, Braxton, Brooklyn, Luca, Lincoln and Madeleine; her brother Ronald Byler; her sisters-in-law, Donna Byler and Kathleen Brown (late Robert); and her friend Newbury.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Book Hotel DeJohn Funeral Home & Celebrations Center (12811 Chillicothe Rd, Chesterland, OH 44026). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Book Hotel Welton Cemetery (13970 Goodwin St, Burton, OH 44021).
