It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin F. Cruthers of Newbury, Ohio, born in Six Mile Run, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 28, 2023, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wives, Margaret Cruthers and Bell Spencer-Cruthers; his siblings, Frank Cruthers, Buddy Cruthers and Connie Hughes; his great grandchild Madeline Ames; and his son-in-law Ron Grassette.

He is survived by: his daughter Carolyn Grassette; his stepson William Spencer (Diane); his grandchildren, Jenifer Ames (Lance), Robyn Grassette, Chrystal Yoder (Brian) and Bill Spencer (Amy); his great grandchildren, Taylor Ames, Ella Bennett, Emilyn Bennett, Noah Yoder (Jessica), Naomi Yoder (Chris Bobak), Henry Yoder, Alyssa Spencer, Ethan Spencer, Landon Spencer and Addison Spencer; his great great grandchildren, Khalani Ames, Finley Yoder and Peyton Yoder; his brothers, Robert Melius (Shirley) and Charles Melvis; his sister-in-law Gloria Cruthers; and his siblings' children, Gary Cruthers (Linda), Kim Cruthers (Judy), Shane Cruthers, Cindy Faciana, Linda Giersz, Rebecca Coriadi, Cheri Kowalski, Tammy Wagner and Michellle Frederick.
