He was predeceased by: his wife Linnie P. Phillips; and his son Ricky Phillips. He is survived by: his children, Shari Cawthon (Monte), Sandra Phillips (Johnny), Sheila Phillips and Randy Phillips (Kerry); his daughter-in-law Patricia Phillips; his grandchildren, Jason Phillips (Stephanie), Jamie Bertram (Matt), Kathryn Cawthon (Nicholas Tiscenko), Michael Cawthon (McKenna Whipple), Johnny Phillips Jr. (Abby), David Phillips (Rachel Korn), Nicholas Phillips (Brittany), Jennifer Brenneman (Vinnie), Jeremiah Phillips (Nastasha Mohr) and Sarah Phillips (John Waldron); and his siblings, Eula Tate and Carlos Phillips. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Davis - Babcock Funeral Home, Inc. (4154 Clark Ave, Willoughby, OH 44094). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
