We announce the death of David A. Casteel of Newcomerstown, Ohio, who passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 79. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, William M. and Mary E. Casteel (King); and his siblings, Kenneth Casteel (Katie), Richard Casteel (Dorothy), Robert Casteel (Gerry), Clyde Casteel (Gladys), Doris Smith (Phil), Elsie, Jessie and Mary Carol.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Casteel (Mathers); his children, David Casteel II (Kimberly) and Jennifer Moffett (Robert); his grandchildren, Christopher Barnett (Sarah), Emily Moffett, Haley Moffett (Nick Fisanik) and Carter Casteel; and his great grandchild Gracelynn Barnett. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Addy Funeral Home (406 W State St, Newcomerstown, OH 43832). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
