We announce the death of Elizabeth Mitchell of Newcomerstown, Ohio, who passed away on August 29, 2026, at the age of 86. Elizabeth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Mitchell and Hazel Mitchell (Cannon); the father of her children Dr. Henry Schrickel; her brother Alfred Mitchell; her granddaughter Leslie Joyce Schrickel; and her sisters, Barb Stewart, Sue Wright and Phyllis Spragg.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Phillip Schrickel (Catherine), Scott Schrickel (Jackie) and Joyce Schrickel (Chuck McDowell); her grandchildren, Dr. Elizabeth Brooke Schrickel (Tabitha Lockhart), Dr. Emily Hope Shurtz (Matthew), Wesley Schrickel (Kristin) and Philip Schrickel (Mona); and her great grandchildren, Owen Shurtz, Everett Shurtz, Anderson James Shurtz, Anna Schrickel, Conley Schrickel and Alistar Schrickel. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Addy Funeral Home (406 W State St, Newcomerstown, OH 43832). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 1:30 PM at the West Lawn Cemetery (21628 Township Rd 258, Newcomerstown, OH 43832).
