We are sad to announce that, on April 6, 2023, at the age of 92, Mabel Marie Moffit Thornton (Newcomerstown, Ohio), born in Saint Clairsville, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Moffit and Lutisha Moffit (Miller); her daughter Diana Louise; her siblings, Martha Doman (Herb), Nora Saffell (Joe), Charles Moffit (Alice), Robert Moffit (Gloria), Homer Moffit and Earnest Moffit; her parents-in-law, Henry and Orella Thornton; and her granddaughter-in-law Shelly Thornton.
She is survived by: her husband Clarence E. Thornton (Jack); her children, Terry Thornton (Janice) of Port Washington, Gary Thornton (Shirley) of Gnadenhutten, Carol Hoffman (Don) of Gnadenhutten, Beverly Long (Jim) of Dennison and Jaynie Norman (John) of Port Washington; and her grandchildren, Brent Thornton, Diana Mariol (Erik), Brian Thornton, Jason Thornton (Sabrina), Jennifer Stratton (Kris), Michele Lieser (Matt), Michael Hoffman (Valerie), Tyler Long (Alicia), Curtis Long (Brittney), Blake Norman and Zachary Norman (Stefanie). She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
