He was predeceased by his parents Max Kennedy Julien and Florence Addy Julien, his sister Maxine Julien Van Sant, and his niece Janice Van Sant of Chandler, AZ. He is survived by his wife Nancy Louise Rogers; his children, Denise Marie Martin (Joe) of Winchester, KY, Mitchell Otto Julien (Susan) of Louisville, KY, and Anne Marshall Reichle (Chris) of Ray, OH; his grandchildren, Chase, Catherine and Luke Martin, Claire Julien Mulloy (Joseph), Grace Julien Blevins (J. P.), Sarah and Max Julien, Hannah and Mary Anne Reichle; his great-grandchildren, Henry Marshall Chystyakov and Joseph Patrick Mulloy III; and his nephew Eric Van Sant (Annette) of Chandler AZ. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
