He was predeceased by: his parents, Sanford H. Steed and Mary Lou Steed (John); and his brother Art Steed. He is survived by: his wife Mary Steed (Durben); his sons, Guy Eugene Steed (S. J.) and Christopher Steed (Brittany) of Newcomerstown; his grandchildren, Harley, Henry, Owen, Noah and Savannah; and his sisters, Marcie Clarkston of Newcomerstown, Melanie Mathews of Newcomerstown and Kimberly Lyons of Newcomerstown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
