He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Smith and Ann Smith (Nolan); and his son Aaron Smith. He is survived by: his girlfriend Maria Gifford; his children, David Smith, Chris Smith (Ellen), Brian Smith, Katelin Borucki (Nick) and Rebecca Smith; his grandchildren, Piper, Joshua, Cora, Devin, Alyssa, Corbin, Gavin and Riley; and his siblings, Butch Smith (Holly), Ray Smith (Wendy) and Janet Marsteller. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Albert's name be made to the American Diabetes Association.
