He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert E. Mowen and Martha Mowen (Thorn); his brother Roger Mowen; and his brother-in-law David T. Orwig III. He is survived by : his wife Deborah A. "Debbie" Orwig Mowen; his children, Mark Mowen of Bovard, Pennsylvania, Gina Beckwith (Chad) of Latrobe and Amber Mowen of Niles; and his grandchildren, Bella, Ava, Jordan and Kai.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home (126 W Park Ave, Niles, OH 44446). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
