He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph S. Szuch and Julia H. Szuch (Palczer); and his brother Robert Szuch. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Bette" Takach; his children, Jeff Szuch (Kim) of Charleston, SC and Kelle Cohol (Bill) of Niles, OH; his grandchildren, Eric Szuch (Jamie Lockwood) of Charleston, SC and Dael Szuch of Atlanta, GA; his brother Donald Szuch (Dianne); his sister-in-law Barb Szuch of Machesney Park, IL; his nieces, Holly Sandy (Will), Heather Bellian (Dave) and Heidi Graber (Hank); and his cousins, David Szuch (Michelle) and Leigh Ann Szuch (Jody Chandler).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made out to St. Jude's Children Hospital located at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
