He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Nickols and Olive Mae Nickols (Henry); and his siblings, Henry "June" Nickols, Helen Barringer and Carol Mays.
He is survived by: his children, Richard "Nick" Nickols of Cygnet, Rebecca Goeller (Todd) of Sycamore and Sonya Zielinski (Jay) of Custar; and his siblings, Bob Nickols of Rudolph, Sandy McCartney of North Baltimore and Connie Casdorph of Rudolph. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
