He is survived by: his wife Marlo; his children, Blake Markel Labean (Victoria) of North Baltimore, Chase Markel of McComb and Kalem Markel of McComb; his stepchildren, MacKenzie Burchell (Caleb) of Pickerington, Kendalyn and Dawson Jesko of Findlay, His; his father George Markel of North Baltimore; his siblings, Tim Markel (Billi) of Findlay, Kevin Markel (David) of Findlay, Mistty Patterson (Shawn) of McComb, Wendy Young (Troy) of McComb and Gage Markel (Stephanie) of Wayne; his grandchildren, Carter, Alaina, Denver, Ella, Leah, Kamden and Watson; and his close friend Johnboy Carles.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the North Baltimore American Legion.
