He is survived by: his girlfriend Nancy Ruprecht; his children, Geoffrey, Rebecca Abel-Kennedy (Adam Kennedy) and Mark (Kathleen Williams); his granddaughters, Emily Abel-Rutter, Charlotte and Willow Abel; his siblings, Thomas, Barbara Cannan (James) and James (Joanne); his brother-in-law Robert Lambert; his nieces and nephews, Timothy, Michael, Peter Lambert, Cynthia Mack, Pamela Abel, Jaclyn Conlon, Matthew, Mark Cannan and Megan Jones; and his close friends, Scott Ruprecht and Todd Ruprecht (Natalie).
