She was predeceased by: her parents, Gordon Smith and Elsie Smith (Maddocks); her husband Gene; her son Larry Bregar; her grandson Howard Bieber; her brother Robert Dickey; and her sons-in-law, Glenn White and Eugene Toy.

She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Toy of Canfield and Diann White-Soltis (Terry) of North Lima; her daughter-in-law Gerri Bregar of Lisbon; and her brother David Dickey (Beth). She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Joan's memory to Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ.
