He is survived by: his friend Tom Gagen; his wife Maria; his children, Nina Sherman and Rye Smith (Sidney); and his siblings, Dennis (Eleanor), Mary Jo Whetsel (Michael), Victoria Sherman and Julie Varsho (Bennett). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and more friends.
