It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jacobus P. VandenBerg of North Olmsted, Ohio, who passed away on October 13, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John VandenBerg and Pauline VandenBerg; and his siblings, Margaret Wilkens (John), Harry (Maryann), Mary Neelands (Jack), Petronella Benton, Pauline Hollmann, John (Sue), Leo and Tony.
He is survived by: his wife Norma; his daughters, Laura Smirz (Scott) and Karen Toke (David); his granddaughters, Rachel Krezman (late Tim), Emma Smirz and Amanda Morris (Michael); his great grandchild Sawyer Morris; his sisters, Johanna Reekers (late Arnold) and Jayne Rembielak (Alan); and his siblings-in-law, Mary, Bob Benton, Max Hollmann, Loretta and Cheryl. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home (20820 Lorain Rd, Fairview Park, OH 44126). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Evergreen Cemetery (29535 Center Ridge Rd, Westlake, OH 44145).
