“My deepest sympathy to the Haug family. Joan was a good friend and wonderful coworker to me for over 30 years. She was a classy lady who dressed for success every day and greeted everyone with a positive attitude and smile. She gave me a lovely coffee cup when we retired together so I often think of her. I will remember her love for family and her dedication to her job and service to all her customers at NASA. We enjoyed many conversations about business and life.. May she Rest In Peace.”

“Elaine and Bruce are sad that Joan didn’t get to enjoy the long retirement she surely deserved. She was always really nice to us. We truly enjoyed knowing her. We used to laugh with her about how often we ran into each other in the stores all around North Olmsted. We pray that she is happy in heaven.”

“Sending my heartfelt sympathies to Joan’s family and friends! Joan was always a caring, patient & supportive co-worker. She always offered to help others, especially the newer employees & always had candy on her desk to share. I’ll always remember her cleaning up the kitchen area with her rubber gloves, windex & wipes! She never let the stress change affect her ability to be a great worker & A better “friend”. Joan may u enjoy your reunion with your beloved husband🙏🏻”

Mark Manthey wrote a sympathy message

“Please accept my heartfelt sympathies for your loss. At NASA, as I’m sure there are at home, there are countless examples that show that her concern for others, especially her family, was always the first thing on her mind. At work, her office was full of family pictures and she always seemed to know when co-workers needed a sympathetic ear. She also demonstrated to many trainees how to earn lasting respect and trust. Joan gave much of herself to so many others.”

Aaron A. Olmsted wrote a sympathy message

“My deepest sympathies to all of Joan's family on her passing. Joanie was certainly a bright spot in our lives and a treasured part of the NASA family. She was loved by everyone who knew her because of her kindness and willingness to help in almost any circumstance. She was always quick to share a story of her kids or grandkids who she clearly adored. Joanie was my first unofficial mentor at NASA and I hope her legacy of dedicated service lives on in me and the many others she taught. God bless!”
