He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Mertel and Betty Mertel (Drotar); and his brother Frank. He is survived by: his children, Michael Jaworski (Gina) of Garfield Heights, Jennifer Valentine (Dan) of Twinsburg and Christina Mertel of Solon; his grandchildren, Danny Valentine Jr., Chloe Valentine, Hailey Jaworski and Mycal Clemons; his brothers, Mike and Jimmy Mertel (Angie); his former wife Janet Mertel (Jaworski); and his pet Vito Valentine.
