He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion "Art" Gantz and Isabelle "Belle" Gantz (Funk); his stepparents, Lawrence Freshley and Helen Gantz; and his brother Donald E. Gantz, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Gantz of Alliance, OH; his children, Rev. Harold "Jeff", Diane Nye (Chris Smith) and Lisa Michelle Said (Adam); his grandchildren, Vanessa Grossman (Josh), Jeffery "Austin" Gantz (Malissa), Emme Janan Said, Hanna Leila Said and Roger "Alex" Nye; and his great grandchildren, Mace Darwin Grossman and Theodore William Gantz.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Bacher-Moore Funeral Home (3250 Greenwich Rd, Norton, OH 44203). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 2:15 PM at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery (10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273).
