He was predeceased by : his parents, Meryl Hurst and Metia Hurst; his son Alvin Brian Hurst, Jr.; and his brothers, Phillip, Fred and Karl Hurst.
He is survived by : his pet Retriever; his wife Marjorie Ann (Seiling) of Norwalk; his children, James Hurst of Norwalk, Mikel Hurst (Janie) of Winchester, KY, Russell Hurst (Jeanie) of Shreve, Jenny Hurst of Norwalk, Karen Higgins (David) of Lexington, Mark (Sherry) of Wooster, Christine Jones (Tracy) of Mansfield, Cindy Brown (Tim) of Shelby and Matthew Hurst (Betsy) of Elyria; his brother Lawrence Hurst (Connie) of Norwalk; and his close friends, Paul Schneiter and Joey Novosielski of New London. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
