He was predeceased by : his parents, William Kirk and Goldina Kirk (Goff); his daughter Lisa Bailey; his brother William E. Kirk Jr.; and his stepmother Emogene Kirk (Baby Boy Kirk).

He is survived by : his wife Kimberly Kirk; his children, David Kirk II, Michael Kirk, Kris Penwell and Pam Wheeler; and his brother Bruce Kirk.
