He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Shaffer and Magdalen Shaffer (Breznan); and his siblings, Betty Hoffer (Shaffer), Paul, Roy and Ira Shaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Diane (Wade); his siblings, Mary Lee (Steve) and David Shaffer (Chris); and his children, Christy Gainok (Mark), Robert Shaffer (Jyoti) and Daniel Shaffer (Heidi). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
