He was predeceased by: his father Roger Oates; and his sister Deborah Arlin. He is survived by: his sons, Keegan Oates of Bellevue and Zackery Oates (Traci Horning) of Bellevue; his granddaughter Lylah Ann Oates; his mother Anna Sandefur; his siblings, Mike Oates (Sherri) and Cheryl North (John); and his brother-in-law Jim Arlin.
