He was predeceased by: his parents, Oral Thomas and Enola Thomas; and his siblings, Dock Thomas, Dale Thomas, Callis Thomas and Freida Gosser Bernard.

He is survived by: his former wife Edna Thomas; his children, Brian Thomas (Denise Hartzell) and Tonya Ware (Steve); his grandchildren, Alyssa Thomas, Aaron Thomas, Austin Thomas, Jake Ware, Haley Ware and Meghan Ware; his siblings, Carol Ann Wilson and Steven Thomas; his stepmother Helen Thomas; and his girlfriend Linda Woodrum. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
