With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Scott Cecil of Oak Harbor, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 7, 2025 at the age of 66. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Scott Cecil to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid adieu to Scott's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Scott has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nile Cecil and Kay Cecil (Ashley); and his sister Marsha Deitemyer. He is survived by: his wife Debra Cecil; his stepfather Frank Kingdon; his brother-in-law Bill Deitemyer; and his nieces, Betsy Winters (Kevin) and Ashley Smith (Josh).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory (425 E State St, Fremont, OH 43420). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials can be made in his honor to the Humane Society of Sandusky County.
