He was predeceased by : his parents, Ben Arrowood and Mearl Arrowood; his wife Diana Arrowood; his siblings, Jack, Joe, Jimmy, Flem, Benny Arrowood and Lois Barker; and his great grandchildren, Lucy Tiller and Katelyn Martin.

He is survived by : his children, John Arrowood Jr. (Charlene), Lori Edwards (William), Sharon Walton (Mike), Teresa Baker (Todd) and Kathy Brammer (Jerry); and his siblings, Ervin, Glenn, David Arrowood, Helen Jones, Betty Carter and Samantha Hatcher. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
