We bid farewell to John Matsushima of Oberlin, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 27, 2026 at the age of 99. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy John leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph J. Matsushima and Teru Matsushima; his wife Grace; his son Mark (Colonel U. S.); and his sister Midge Fujimoto.
He is survived by: his nieces, Elizabeth Rahel, Leslie Takahashi and Anne Takahashi Kelso; and his nephew Richard Fujimoto.
