He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Patterson and Sadie Patterson; his sons, Bill and Erik Patterson; and his brother Ralph "Tootie" Patterson.
He is survived by: his wife Saundra Patterson; his sons, Brian (Melissa) and David (Curlene); his daughter-in-law Lori Patterson; and his siblings, David and Patricia. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
